On the route of the ‘Pueblas Blancas’ in Andalucia, Arcos de la Frontera is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
The area is generally associated with sherry production, but in fact has a long forgotten tradition of making red wines, with records dating back to the 14th century.
Gonzalez Byass recognised the quality potential of the grapes from the area and in 2000 they bought Finca Moncloa, a 42 acre estate on clay and limestone soils, with a Mediterranean climate, producing red grapes with great intensity.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tintilla de Rota and Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. A cherry red wine with intense aromas of red and black fruits and a balanced palate with notes of fruit, spice and oak.
Finca Moncloa 10 Barricas
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and a touch of Tintilla de Rota. A intense ruby wine with aromas of red fruit, vanilla and fine wood. On the palate it is sweet and elegant with notes of mature red fruits, mature oak and coffee.
Tintilla de Rota
100% Tintilla de Rota aged for 18 months in French oak. This naturally sweet surprises due to its dark red colour and notes of mature cherry and violets. The wine is smooth, silky and persistent with flavours of red fruits, honey, coffee and wood.
