Neil Ellis Wines Receives its Fourth Veritas Double Gold Medal

Neil Ellis Wines received its fourth Veritas Double Gold in four consecutive years for the 2016 Neil Ellis Jonkershoek Cabernet Sauvignon, re-affirming the family winery’s consistent pursuit of quality for the past 35 years.

Since producing the first Cabernet Sauvignon with a Neil Ellis label in 1984, awards for excellence in Cabernet Sauvignon have been plenty. Their steadfast focus on selecting distinctive sites known to produce exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon has resulted in a steady stream of local and international awards.

“Jonkershoek has once again proven itself as one of the best sites for consistent Cabernet Sauvignon,” says winemaker Warren Ellis. “It takes time and effort to really get to know a region, site and a vineyard. Our relationship with the Jonkershoek Valley, specifically in the production of premium quality Cabernet Sauvignon, has developed over many years. We’re happy to see it pay off.”

The Veritas Awards were held for the 29th time this year making it the longest running wine and brandy competition in South Africa. Join us in raising a celebratory glass to all the team at Neil Ellis.
