We are delighted to announce that our Champagne Deutz Blanc de Blancs 2010 has won the prestigious title of the World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly 2017, at the inaugural Awards organised by A Glass of Bubbly website magazine in London last month.
Not only was it judged to be the ultimate glass of Champagne, but this subtle, delicate 100% Chardonnay wine was also awarded the Trophy for the best ‘Meditation’ wine, and the special Michael Edwards Award 2017.
Clearly the Blanc de Blancs 2010 met with great success, beating hundreds of Champagnes & sparkling wines from all over the world – including France, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, England and Argentina – to the top title. The Awards were judged over two days by over 36 international sommeliers, producers, wine critics and opinion formers, and Masters of Wine, headed by Champagne specialist and Decanter contributor Michael Edwards.
Receiving the Trophies and the Finest Glass title, at a glittering Awards Dinner at the Marriott County Hall Hotel last week, Chloe Verrat, communications director at Champagne Deutz, said: “This is indeed a great honour for Champagne Deutz to be the first wine to win this title, and we appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate the winemaking skills of Chef de Cave Michel Davesne and his team in Ay – and take on the world! We are all absolutely delighted with the news.’’
