Beronia Reserva 2014 makes Wine Spectator Top 100

Wine Spectator, leading American wine title, has ranked Beronia Reserva 2014 amongst its 100 Top Value Big Reds of 2019.

Scoring 92 points Thomas Matthews rated the wine as “Rich and expressive, this exuberant red delivers bold flavours of plum, blackberry and liquorice, balanced by graphite, black tea and forest floor notes. Tangy acidity offsets the firm tannins.”

The Beronia Reserva 2014 was made from a selection of the very best Tempranillo from some of the estate’s oldest vines blended together with a little Graciano and Mazuelo. The wine is aged for 20 months in mixed French and American oak barrels plus second use French oak barrels to encourage a slow and rounded development.

Commenting on the achievement, chief winemaker, Matías Calleja said, “Being voted amongst the Top 100 wines in the US for 2019 by Wine Spectator is one of our greatest accomplishments – we knew we had a great wine on our hands from 2014.” He added, “The team works hard to make better wines each harvest and getting this kind of recognition makes us proud that the unique Beronia style is appreciated by some of the world’s very best critics.”
