Last night at the IWC awards dinner it was announced that Gonzalez Byass, leading Spanish wine and spirits producer, has once again been awarded the prestigious Len Evans Trophy in 2017 for its wine portfolio. The trophy is given to wineries, or winemakers, that have consistently excelled in their medal and trophy performance at the International Wine Challenge over the past 5 years. This is the second time Gonzalez Byass has won this award, previously taking the title in 2009. The IWC is one of the largest and most renowned international wine competitions, this is an outstanding result.
Over the past 5 years alone the González Byass Family of Wine, which has wineries in DO Jerez, DOCa Rioja, DO Cava, DO Somontano, DO Rías Baixas, VdlT de Castilla and VdlTCádiz, has been awarded a total of 11 trophies, 30 gold medals, 28 silver medals, 14 bronze medals and 21 commended.
